Keen to raise money for St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group, our Barrister Robyn Murdo-Smith completed the Monopoly Board Challenge on 22-7-23. Commencing at Angel Islington he walked 14.25 miles to the Blind Beggar Pub in Whitechapel bagging all of the 'squares' on the Monopoly Board in 4 hours and 20 minutes.
Chambers are pleased to announce that Robyn Murdo-Smith will be appointed an Associate Hospital Manager with North East London NHS Foundation Trust on 1st July 2021.
In a recent sentence Robyn Murdo-Smith drew the Sentencing Judge’s attention to the brave citizenship demonstrated by a witness, a student who, fearing a possible stabbing, called police and followed the offender until police stopped him. The Judge made a £200 Sherriff’s Award to the public spirited young man.
On 1st December 2017 Lambeth Borough Commander Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Wood commended 9 KBW for it’s ‘Selflessness and Generosity’ in providing training to police officers. In providing the training Robyn Murdo-Smith and John Clifford were assisted by Chambers colleagues James Dick, Sophie Quinton-Carter, Ben Edwards, Tom Aiken and Charles Drinnan.
On 16th March 2016 a member of 9KBW, Robyn Murdo-Smith, visited the death camps at Auschwitz with officers of the Metropolitan Police, members of
Paul Douglass, Robyn Murdo Smith, Catherine Picardo, Bill Gatward, our intern Claire Stephenson and Hendon Volunteer Police Cadets, all took roles in a mock trial held at Inner Temple for Police Officers (see our front page of the website showing them in action)
